Connecticut Concert Ballet: Pre-Professional Program

Junior Trainees and Trainees:

Dancers who are identified as physically and artistically talented will be invited on an individual basis to join this focused and serious training program.  The Junior Trainee and Trainee program is for dancers in Level 1 – Level 3. 

Formed in the fall of 2010, the Trainee Programs are designed to give students that have been identified as gifted and promising the early training that is vital to shaping them into our dancers of the future.  The Trainee Program is designed to ease these dancers into our more rigorous Ensemble program.  Trainees attend a special Trainee class where they are taught using the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Ballet Curriculum taught by ABT® Certified Teacher, Wendy Fish-Lawrence.  Trainees must attend this special class in addition to their required class(es) in their assigned ballet class level. 

Ensemble and Ensemble Apprentices:

Serious dancers with career aspirations in dance and who are in Level 4 & 5 and are on pointe are invited to audition for the Connecticut Concert Ballet Ensemble.  The CCB Ensemble has two distinct roles.  The first is as a pre-professional training program for the serious ballet student with career goals in professional dance.  The second is as a performing ensemble that will provide additional performance opportunities including outreach programs and special appearances.  Students will be chosen for the Ensemble by audition only.  Speak to the Artistic Directors for more information.
