Connecticut Concert Ballet has a strict dress code for all students that enables the teacher to best see and evaluate each student.  Teachers must be able to see the ankles, knees, hips, ribcage, neck, face, shoulders and elbows clearly.  Leotards and tights should be worn without underwear underneath.  Jewelry, leg warmers, and other items are a distraction to both student and teacher and are not permitted in any class.

For all girls:  Hair must be secured in a bun with bobby pins and a hair net.  Please come to your class with your hair correctly done.  Our teachers do not have time to fix everyone’s hair.    

Ballet

In all ballet classes, Connecticut Concert Ballet students must wear the official uniform of the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum.  The ABT Official Uniform is a pre-professional line of dancewear for young male and female students in ABT’s training programs featuring a classic yet vibrant look in an exciting range of colors. 

Pre-ballet Girls:  Any style pink leotard, pink footed tights, pink ballet slippers

Primary A Girls:  ABT skirted leotard in CANDY, pink footed tights, pink ballet slippers (preferably soft, split-sole slippers)

Primary B Girls:  ABT skirted leotard in LEMON, pink footed tights, pink ballet slippers (preferably soft, split-sole slippers)

Level 1 Girls:  ABT sleeveless leotard in LILAC, pink footed tights, pink ballet slippers (preferably soft, split-sole slippers)

Level 2 Girls:  ABT sleeveless leotard in BLUEBELL, pink footed tights, pink ballet slippers (preferably soft, split-sole slippers)

Level 3 Girls:  ABT sleeveless leotard in MAGENTA, pink footed tights, pink ballet slippers (preferably soft, split-sole slippers), ABT wrap skirt in MAGENTA for pointe work

Level 4 Girls:  ABT cami or cap sleeve leotard in CHINA BLUE, pink footed tights, pink ballet slippers (preferably soft, split-sole slippers), ABT wrap skirt in CHINA BLUE for pointe work

Level 5 Girls: ABT cami or cap sleeve leotard in VIOLET, pink footed tights, pink ballet slippers (preferably soft, split-sole slippers), ABT wrap skirt in VIOLET for pointe work

Boys:  ABT boys cap sleeve leotard in WHITE, ABT boys shorts in BLACK or black footed tights, black ballet slippers or white ballet slippers with white socks, dance belt worn under shorts/tights

Jazz

Girls: Any color leotard, black jazz pants or tights, black jazz shoes
    *Hair must be pulled back out or face and secured in a pony tail or bun

Boys:  Any color tee shirt, black jazz pants or tights, black jazz shoes

Modern & Creative Movement

Girls:  Any color leotard, footless tights, bare feet
    *Hair must be pulled back out or face and secured in a ponytail or bun

Boys:  Any color tee shirt, footless tights or shorts, bare feet

***Open 1st saturdays:  on the 1st saturday of each month Level 4/5 students may wear any color leotard of their choice!
